On Monday night, Tulsa Public Schools' Board of Education approved a recommendation to adjust the boundary of Cooper Elementary school to include the Metro Plex Garden Apartments.

This boundary change was originally approved in 2013 to reduce overcrowding at Cooper Elementary. However, with changes in the student population at Cooper, the overcrowding situation no longer exists.

There are currently 28 students who live in the boundary area which includes Metro Plex Garden Apartments (shown above in green), a majority of which already attend Cooper. Data shows that most families in this area want to attend school at Cooper which is closer to their home.

The boundary changes will take effect for the 2020 - 2021 school year. The chanages will have no impact on students who are currently attending Dolores Huerta nor will it impact any student's ability to stay at their current school.
